Help/FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most, with plain, complete answers.

Getting started

Is it free to start?+

Yes. You can connect an inbox and read your first daily brief without paying, and no card is required to begin. Paid plans add more connected inboxes, AI Highlights, and more monthly AI credits, but the core triage, Action Items, and categories are available from the moment you start.

Which email providers work with MailOver?+

MailOver connects to Gmail, Outlook, and any IMAP account, which covers iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail, and most other providers. You can connect more than one inbox at once and MailOver reads across all of them, handing back a single combined brief instead of making you check each account separately.

How long does the first sync take?+

Usually a few minutes. MailOver reads your recent email first so your Action Items and categories appear quickly, then keeps loading older mail in the background. You can use MailOver while it works, and your brief becomes more complete over the first hour as the sync finishes.

Features

What is the difference between Action Items, Highlights, and FYIs?+

Action Items are tasks you need to do, with due dates pulled from the email. Highlights are short summaries of threads worth knowing about. FYIs are everything else, sorted into clean categories you can skim or ignore. Together they turn a full inbox into one short, scannable brief.

Can MailOver write replies for me?+

Yes. Open an email and choose Draft reply, and the AI writes a response based on the thread that you can edit before sending. You can also use AI chat to ask questions about your inbox. MailOver never sends anything automatically, so every message is one you review and approve.

Does MailOver move or delete my emails?+

No, not on its own. MailOver connects with secure OAuth and gets the access it needs to read and sort your mail, mark a message as read once it has processed it, and send a reply when you ask. It does not move, delete, or reorganize your inbox by itself. Action Items, Highlights, and categories are MailOver's own layer on top of your mail.

Is there an Android app?+

Not yet. MailOver runs on the web and as a native iOS app, and an Android app is on the roadmap. You can join the Android waitlist on our site to be notified when it launches. Until then, MailOver works in any mobile browser on Android.

Credits & billing

How do credits work?+

Credits meter the AI work of processing your email, about one credit per email that gets read, summarized, and sorted. Briefings, AI chat, and draft replies do not use credits, they have daily limits instead. Each plan includes a set number of credits a month, yearly plans add a bonus, and your balance resets at the start of every billing cycle.

How do I cancel?+

Cancel anytime, and you keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancel where you subscribed: on the web open Settings, then Subscription, and use Manage Billing to cancel in Stripe; on iPhone use the App Store; on Android use Google Play. After cancelling, your account moves to the free tier and your data stays available.

Privacy

Is my email private, and do you train AI on it?+

Your email is stored with zero-access AES-256 encryption, so MailOver staff cannot read it. We never use your email to train AI models and we do not sell your data. The AI reads your mail only to build your own brief, and you can export or delete everything anytime.
