Your email is yours. We're built to keep it that way.
Zero-access AES-256 encryption with per-user keys, and we never train AI on your email.
Zero-access encryption
Your email content is encrypted with AES-256 using keys derived for your account alone. Even MailOver staff can't read it.
No training on your email
Your inbox is never used to train AI models. We process your mail to organize it, nothing more.
Minimal, reversible actions
MailOver reads and organizes your mail into Action Items, Highlights, and FYIs, and can mark items read or move them to Trash when you ask. It never permanently deletes your email — anything trashed can be restored.
You stay in control
Export everything as JSON or delete your account and data in one place, whenever you want.
How your data is protected
The specifics, in plain language. No jargon you can't check.
Encryption at rest
Email content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Keys are per user, derived with PBKDF2, so each account's data is protected with its own key rather than one shared key. This is what makes it zero-access: the key needed to decrypt your mail isn't available to our staff.
Secure OAuth connections
Gmail and Outlook connect through OAuth. You authorize access on the provider's own screen, and MailOver receives a revocable token. We never see or store your email password, and you can disconnect access from your provider or from MailOver at any time.
Blocklists before AI
You can set keyword and sender blocklists. They are applied before any AI processing, so mail you've blocked is skipped and never sent for organizing. Use it to keep entire senders, threads, or topics out of MailOver entirely.
Configurable retention
You choose how long MailOver keeps processed data. An automatic cleanup runs every day and removes anything past your retention window, so old data doesn't sit around longer than you've allowed.

Common questions
Can MailOver staff read my email?
No. Your email content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key derived for your account alone through PBKDF2. This is zero-access encryption: the keys needed to decrypt your messages are tied to your account and are not available to MailOver staff, so we cannot read the contents of your email.
Do you train AI on my data?
No. MailOver never uses your email to train AI models. Your inbox is processed only to organize it for you into Action Items, Highlights, FYIs, and a daily brief. Your messages are never added to a training set, and they are not shared with or sold to anyone else.
Where is my data stored?
Email content is stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-user, PBKDF2-derived keys. Before any AI processing, your keyword and sender blocklists are applied so blocked mail is skipped. Retention is configurable, and an automatic daily cleanup removes stored data once it passes the window you set.
How do I delete everything?
You can delete your account and data at any time from your settings, or by emailing [email protected]. Deletion removes your connected accounts, stored email content, and the items derived from them. You can export everything first as GDPR-compliant JSON, and the automatic daily cleanup also removes data past your retention window.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
When you cancel, you can export your data as JSON first, then your stored email content and derived items are removed. Disconnecting an inbox stops new processing immediately. Your configured retention settings and the automatic daily cleanup keep applying until your stored data has been deleted.
