Help/Getting started

Getting started

Connect Gmail, Outlook, or any IMAP account and read your first daily brief. Setup takes about a minute, with no rules to configure.

Connect your accounts

Connect your Gmail account
Go to Settings, choose Add email account, and pick Gmail. Google handles the sign-in, so MailOver never sees your password, then it returns to your inbox and starts the first sync. You can connect more than one Gmail account, and you can disconnect any of them later from the same screen.
Connect your Outlook account
In Settings, choose Add email account and pick Outlook. Microsoft handles the sign-in, then sends you back to MailOver and the first sync starts automatically. Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, and Microsoft 365 work or school accounts all work the same way, and Outlook also syncs your other folders.
Connect an IMAP account (iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail)
Choose Add email account, then IMAP, and enter your email address with an app-specific password from your provider. Pick a provider preset and MailOver fills in the server settings for you, or enter a custom server. The first sync starts once your credentials are accepted.

Your first day

What happens during your first sync
The first sync reads your most recent email so the AI secretary can build your Action Items, Highlights, and FYIs. Items start appearing within a few minutes, and older mail keeps loading in the background. How far back the first sync reaches depends on your plan, and you get a notification when it finishes.
Read your first daily brief
Your first daily brief arrives about three minutes after your first sync finishes. After that, a fresh brief is built whenever your secretary processes new mail, not at a fixed clock time. Each one opens with a greeting, then your most important Action Items, a quick stat, and a few Highlights and FYIs worth knowing.
Connect more than one inbox
MailOver reads across every inbox you connect and hands back one combined brief. Add each one from Settings, mixing Gmail, Outlook, and IMAP, and your Action Items, Highlights, and FYIs merge into a single view. Your plan sets how many inboxes you can connect at once, from one on Free up to eight on Ultra.
