Help/Troubleshooting/I'm not getting my daily brief

I'm not getting my daily brief

Short answer

Your daily brief is event-driven, so it only builds after the secretary processes fresh mail. No new processed email means no new brief. Also check you have not run out of credits, since processing pauses at zero, and that you are under your daily brief cap. Highlights are a Plus and up feature.

Briefs are event-driven, not scheduled

Your daily brief is not tied to a clock time you set. It is generated after your secretary finishes processing a fresh batch of mail. So if nothing new has been processed since your last brief, there is nothing new to summarize and no brief goes out. A quiet day, or a day where every new email was already handled, can simply mean no brief. The very first brief after you connect an account arrives a few minutes after your first sync completes.

Check that processing is still running

Because briefs only build from freshly processed mail, anything that stops processing also stops new briefs. The most common cause is running out of credits. Processing spends one credit per email, and at zero it pauses until your credits reset, you buy a top-up, or you upgrade. New mail keeps arriving in your inbox, but it will not be read or briefed while processing is paused. You can check your balance in Settings under Credits. It is also worth confirming the account is still connected, since an expired connection stops new mail from coming in at all.

Daily brief cap and Highlights

There is a limit on how many briefs you get per day: 6 on Free and Plus, 20 on Pro, and 50 on Ultra. On a very busy day you can reach that cap, and further briefs wait until the next day. This rarely affects normal use.

One more thing worth knowing if your brief looks lighter than you expected: Highlights are a paid feature, available on Plus and up. On the Free plan your brief still includes your top Action Items and FYIs, but it will not contain Highlights. Brief still empty after fresh mail came in and processed?
